So rainy season had started and we were planning for quick trek to some nearby fort. After some googling we shortlisted Rohida fort also called Vichitragad as our trek plan on 23rd July 2016. This fort is near bhor about 65km from Pune. Rohida is accessible by state transport bus which has good connectivity till Bhor from Pune swargate bus stand, but we prefer to have a bike ride till the base village Bajarwadi. The trekking path starts from the hillock west of the Bajarwadi Highschool. The route is very safe and wide. There are no trees on the trekking route.

What do you do when in the midst of October, when the sun is bright and the wind is hot, your girlfriends come up with the idea to go on a Vacation! Obviously you say yes! Most of the impromptu plans that you ever make, leave your soul calm and fulfilled. So based on the safety aspect (all girls trip) and proximity from Bangalore and Pune, we came down to deciding to go to Mangalore. If not anything just for a few days with each other!

As we looked for the tickets just 2 weeks in advanced, we were quite surprised that we could get some on one of the train in Ladies Quota. So we were soon boarded with luggage, maps, plans and ideas.

We started from Bangalore by Kannur Express. Well it started on time, and reached by the Indian Railway Timing around 3 hours late. A special mention for the Auto Driver who took us to the Vazco Beach Resort, Someshwara. The GPS had been trying our patience and after a million lefts and rights, he asked the locals in Mangalorean Kannada, “These girls don’t know where they are going, please help them” and as one of our friends translated it to us we couldn’t stop laughing. We finally reached the resort. It was a very warm place, with a set of perfect hosts for the hotel staff and we enjoyed thoroughly. We were excited to find there was a private beach just linked to the resort where we all sat and relaxed for a while.

Ever felt electric in Pune? The excitement in the air, the kind of energy of ardent devotion and a jest of hunger to have fun was evident at Laxmi Road, Pune as the cutest Bappa of all times says goodbye in style.
If you are ever in Maharashtra during the Ganesh Festival you will notice Bappa lives in the heart of the state. This is the Ganesh Festival in Maharashtra, a widely celebrated extravaganza involving almost every household. 10 days of hopes, dreams, fun, social gatherings and laughter, Bappa is the most widely loved GODS from the Hindu Mythology.
Evident from the energy of the Dhol-Tasha Pathak and the fully packed crowded roads, as the air fills with the aroma of fresh flowers, colours and the beats every person present in the crowd is blessed. Every person has a smile on his face as their heart races to the beats. With the crowd of thousands, the city beamed with colours, with laughter and with joy. Even the Sun GOD could not dampen the spirit.

Diveagar situated around 160km from Pune provides a great weekend destination for the tourists who wish to enjoy beaches away. Diveagar is around 170km from Mumbai so being in the vicinity of two major cities Diveagar has a lot to offer. Diveagar is situated on the Arabian Sea. The place with a beach very wide and clean is blessed with intense natural beauty, the tender sands below feet, coconut tree cultivations. I visited Diveagar on 17th January as the second leg on my Kokan Tour after Harihareshwar.

A little late though, today I have decided to complete the post on our trek to a small fort called Tikona. I took this trek on 23rd August 2014. In late monsoon the surroundings was lush green and weather perfect for a gateway to a short trek on tikona.

Tikona also known as Vitandgad is the dominant hill fort in Maval in western India. It is located near Kamshet around 60 km from Pune. The village nearest to the fort is called Tikona-Peth. The 3500 ft high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means “triangle”.
