If you have a few friends who enjoy being in picturesque places, with cool air and a hilly beach, dapoli just goes at the top of the list. This description summarizes the whole experience we had. Just 6 hours drive from Pune/ Mumbai, this small village has a beauty of its own. Just 20 mins to the west, It has a series of beaches by the side of small hills, making it a treat for nature lovers.

This was my first visit to Sheagaon and Anand Sagar, a truly pleasant experience. As my visit was just 1 week before Diwali i.e. on 26 October, 2013 there was not much rush and we were able to enjoy the tour. As I have been in Pune this involved a long journey but still 1 Day 2 night are sufficient for a quick dash to this place. In-spite of being Saturday the diwali festival seemed to keep people in their home. So for other days you can visit in some weekday as generally in weekend there is a huge rush present.

Ganpatipule small town in konkan amid lush green western ghats of India. I must say this happened to be one of the best short tours that I have ever taken till today. Based in Pune, Ganpatipule is about 380 km from Pune. I along with my friends while planning a road trip happened to discuss Ganpatipule as our destination which I will never regret to go to. With not much of any planning we booked a car(tavera) and set out on our journey to this beautiful destination.

Prati Balaji Temple near Narayanpur, Pune

If you can’t visit Lord Shri Venkateshwara Temple at Tirupati Devasthanam, then you must visit their replicas built very close to Pune, one at Ketkawale (Replica of Balaji Temple). This was my first outing in Pune for the season 2013.  The balaji temple near narayanpur is meant to be a replica of the Tirupati temple in all aspects. The priests there have come from Tirupati and every “sevai” done is similar to the one in tirupati.  We group of 4 started on our bike from Pune took the route from Katraj towards the destination.
